42-year-old Palm Coast man killed in single-car crash on U.S. 1

The accident happened on Nov. 17 when the man lost control of his pickup and hit a tree.

A 42-year-old Palm Coast man was killed on Nov. 17 in a single-car crash on Highway U.S. 1, north of County Road 202.

The accident occurred at around 2:20 p.m. The man was driving his pickup truck north on U.S. 1 in the left lane when the truck drove into the grass median, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man overcorrected, rotating the truck clockwise across both northbound lanes onto the right shoulder, where the truck's driver side hit a tree the report said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the truck.
