Two senior living facilities in Palm Coast received a Christmas visit from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and the Granny Nannies of Palm Coast on Dec. 14.
Granny Nannies partnered with the FCSO to deliver 222 Christmas stockings to residents at Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center on Palm Coast Parkway and Flagler Health and Rehabilitation Center on Dr. Carter Boulevard. Several members of the local Flagler 4-H Club also attended, and the whole group walked through the halls singing Christmas carols and handing out the gifts.
Joel Fallon, owner of the Flagler and St. Johns counties Granny Nannies, said it is amazing how much people donated to the cause.
“We have so much generosity in this town,” Fallon said.
Local businesses that donated were asked to donate 200 items so that every resident would have items in their stocking. Granny Nannies has been bringing Christmas stockings to seniors each holiday season since 2017. The FCSO joined in in 2019.
Granny Nanny Assistant Administrator Kristy Hatten said the event always brings a lot of joy to people at the senior living facilities.
“I think it brings them back to their childhood and their families,” Hatten said.
