Bunnell man arrested after search warrant on his home

A Bunnell man was arrested Nov. 16 for drug possession after the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant for his home.

The warrant on the home, located in the 2600 block of Redwood Street in Bunnell, was based on an investigation from FCSO’s Special Investigation Unit, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. The man was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession and two felony counts of drug possession — on for meth and one for fentanyl, the arrest report said.

The Special Weapons and Tactics unit at FCSO knocked on the home’s door several times before the man answered. The man told officers that he owns the property and rents it, the report said, but has lived alone since his brother was arrested in late October.

The man was secured for the duration of the search warrant, where police found about 1 gram of fentanyl, about 1 gram of meth, 12.4 grams of suspected psychedelic mushrooms, a glass smoking pipe and multiple digital scales with residue on them.

The man said he did not know where the items came from, the report said, and told deputies he was not a narcotics user. Several of the items were found in the living room, where the man told police he was staying, according to the report.

The man was taken to the Flagler County Inmate Facility without incident.
