Imagine School at Town Center fifth-grade students took part in a Halloween STEM challenge for their math and science classes, according to a news release.
The students were tasked with building the tallest pumpkin stand they could manage on a budget of $150 and materials like styrofoam cups and index cards, according to Imagine School Fifth Grade Science and Team Lead Shannon Larsson.
Students worked through an engineering design process to create and improve their designs, learning about gravity along the way and testing each stand to see how large a pumpkin it could hold.
