Earlier in the day, FPC lacrosse defender Gordon Beck signed a letter of intent with the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Offensive lineman Nick Blumengarten has a Bright Futures scholarship with the University of Florida, where he intends to major in biology on a pre-med track. He will also be a student equipment manager with the football team.
"I want to be a team physician, so this will help me," he said.
"These young leaders did an awesome job, and what they created, the underclassmen will carry on,"
Steve DeAugustino, FPC athletic director
FPC football coach Robert Paxia said he wanted to celebrate Blumengarten's decision along with the other players, because "you don't necessarily have to play to continue to contribute to the game."
Nine Bulldog seniors have now signed letters of intent with college football programs, Paxia said.
Helping players reach the next level is the athletic staff's ultimate goal, athletic director Steve DeAugustino said in introducing the players.
"These young leaders did an awesome job, and what they created, the underclassmen will carry on," DeAugustino said.
