Locals cycled along the northern part of the Turtle Trail during Palm Coast's 13th-annual "Tour de Palm Coast" on July 23.
Cyclists began their leisurely 10-mile ride began at the Palm Coast Community Center, passing through Linear Park — which had a 24-hour bicycle maintenance station and is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail — St. Joe's Walkway, the Children's Memorial Park and Waterfront Park before returning to the Community Center.
The city's Parks and Recreation Department organized the bike ride as part of national parks and recreation month, celebrated in July.
Along the way, Parks and Recreation Coordinators Jared Dawson and Carrie Todd told participants about Parks and Recreation features like the outdoor classroom in Linear Park and the avian sculptures at Waterfront Park.
Pamela Blankenship and Mariel Lemke, of the River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization, gave riders first aid kits.
The cyclists cooled off with drinks and snacks when they returned to the Community Center.
The event was also supported by Joseph Golan of The Bike Men of Flagler County, a volunteer bike shop that accepts donations of new and gently used bicycles and parts and redistributes them to people who need transportation.
