It's a cliche, but cops do love their donuts — at least, Ormond Beach officers do.
Over 200 people took part in the annual Ormond Beach Police Athletic League Donut Dash 5K on Saturday, April 23, which began and ended at The Trails Shopping Center, with the race running through The Trails and Tomoka Oaks subdivisions. The proceeds benefitted PAL's youth programs, which include Science on Patrol, youth basketball, tutoring and its Youth Director Council.
PAL was established in 1996 to "foster and encourage the development of positive relationships between our youth, officers and community members," according to the Ormond Beach city website. About 800 children, teens and families participate in PAL's programs and special events every year.
