Father Lopez Baseball won at home, beating Flagler Palm Coast Baseball 4-1 on Wednesday, March 24.
Father Lopez started leftie sophomore pitcher Owen McKinely, while the Bulldogs started junior left-hander Tanner Araujo. The Green Wave scored first, in the bottom of the second inning, when McKinley stole home on a wild pitch to sophomore batter David Hickey.
In the bottom of the third inning, Lopez added two more runs when batter Hickey smashed a home run beyond center field, batting home himself and senior Zack Taylor. The Bulldogs scored a run in the top of the fifth inning, when junior outfielder Kyle Mcdonnell snuck home after a field out, catching a few Lopez players off guard. Lopez added another run in the bottom of the fifth, and won the game 4-1.
