The Mainland Bucs baseball team played the Deltona Wolves at home on Tues. March 9, in a game that went extra innings and ended in a 5-5 tie. Junior Jonathan Campbell was the starting pitcher for the Bucs, while the Wolves started senior Wyatt Spitzer.
The Wolves scored a single run in each of the second, third, and fifth innings, and led 3-0 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, the last inning of regulation play. But then the Bucs came back, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh, tying the game 3-3. The game went to two extra innings, with both teams scoring two additional runs, but was ended by the umpires because the field was too dark for safe play. The game ended tied 5-5 at the end of nine innings.
