Seabreeze High School girls soccer team held Flagler Palm Coast to no goals until the final 16 minutes of the game Wednesday, Jan. 6, at the Ormond Beach Soccer Complex, but walked away with a 1-0 loss.
The score remained tied at 0-0 for 64 minutes of the game. Emmaline Caputo and Andrea Gjoreska had five steals each while the team had a cumulative 14 shots on goal. Even though goalie, Avery Dellinger, had five saves, Bulldog forward Hailey Bovino navigated Sandcrab traffic and drove the ball into the bottom right pocket of the goal.
Head coach Alex Perez acknowledged that his team played better the second half, but it was not enough to stop Bovino.
Seabreeze Sandcrabs head to DeLand High School on Friday, Jan. 8, with a 3-3 record for a non-district game against the DeLand Bulldogs.
