Matanzas girls wrestling capped off another year by finishing in the top five at this year's state championships for third year in a row. The overall team finish was in part made by four Pirates who claimed podium spots on Feb. 23.
Riley White, a two-time state runner-up who had surgery in December to repair a bucket handle tear, finished second in the 117 division.
Nakeisha Marcellus who wrestled in the 222 division placed sixth.
Isabella Tietje, placed sixth respectively in the 134 division.
Morgan Morrison, a returning placer, finished sixth in the 162 division.
