Kelly Hall had the top finish for Seabreeze at the Five Star Conference girls weightlifting championships Dec. 16 at Flagler Palm Coast High School.
Hall placed second in the unlimited class in the bench press/clean and jerk competition behind FPC's Colleen Haaf. Hall finished with a 320-pound total, 10 pounds lighter than Haaf's total.
Hall tied Haaf with a 165-pound clean and jerk. Hall matched Haaf on her first bench press of 155 pounds, but while Haaf cleared 165 on her second bench, Hall missed 165 on her second and third tries.
Seabreeze's Hailey Strohm placed third in the 154-pound class with a 135 bench and 135 clean and jerk for a 170 total. Becca Morrow placed fifth in the 101 pound class with a 70-pound bench and 65-pound clean and jerk for a 135 total. Olivia Consolatore was fifth in 183 pounds with an 80-pound bench and 80-pound clean and jerk for a 160 total.
Seabreeze finished sixth in the main competition with 13 points. FPC won the conference title with 49 points. Spruce Creek was second (44), University third (32), New Smyrna Beach fourth (31), Taylor fifth (22), Pine Ridge seventh (12), Deltona eighth (6) and DeLand and Atlantic tied for ninth (5).
FPC also won the snatch-lift competition which is new to FHSAA events this year. The snatch is lifting the barbell overhead in one continuous motion. Seabreeze's Caroline Booth finished fourth in the snatch lift in the 110-pound class.
