Flagler Palm Coast gave new head coach Robert Paxia a victory in his first game as the Bulldogs defeated Nease 24-17 in a preseason Kickoff Classic on Friday, Aug. 20 at Nease High School.
After Nease tied the score at 17 late in the third quarter, quarterback D.J. Murray scored the go-ahead touchdown with six minutes left in the game and FPC's defense took care of the rest.
"Any time you can get a win it always feels good. It means we accomplished everything we wanted to," FPC coach Robert Paxia said. "I'm very excited to see as the season progresses what we're going to turn into."
The Bulldogs' season opener against Pine Ridge High School has been postponed. FPC will host Mainland on Sept. 3.
