The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs scored back-to-back runs in the sixth, but couldn’t catch the DeLand Bulldogs, losing 10-2 in their district quarterfinal match on April 27.
FPC’s Alexis Laura pitched a difficult game, striking out 3 hitters and surrendering 10 runs.
The start of the scoring in the sixth for FPC began as Scarlett Shields hit a sacrifice fly to center field, driving Aun’Yale home.
In the next at bat, Madison Cercy hit a line drive to center field, and Kylee Burns scored the second run of the evening. Unable to close the distance of the lead that DeLand had built up, the FPC Bulldogs ended their season in the district quarterfinals with a 10-2 loss to DeLand and a 4-10 record for the year.
