Matanzas fought hard in front of the home crowd during Friday night's first-round playoff game against Mainland High School. Big performances by Jordan Mills, Ethan Dattilo and Noah Cundiff helped keep the Pirates in the fight and on the board.
Despite their efforts, Mainland began to change the narrative late during the second half after being tied 28-28. The Pirates were unable to answer to the Bucs' three touchdowns. Those three touchdowns would end the 2020 season for Matanzas despite their successful and historic run.
