The city of Palm Coast is suspending water service shut-offs for non-payment of city utility bills and will not charge fees for late water and sewer utility payments until further notice.
The changes are part of the city’s efforts to ease the strain on city utility customers during widespread closures of schools and small businesses due to COVID-19.
“Today, we are helping ensure that our citizens will have access to clean and safe water for drinking, hand washing and keeping their families safe,” Mayor Milissa Holland said. “We have witnessed unprecedented actions in the last few days, and as a community, we recognize that our families and businesses may face hardships as a result of the changes being implemented to slow the spread of this disease.”
Revenue received from utility customers is how the city meets its expenses and is able to continue to provide water, sewer and solid waste services. Utility accounts will still be assessed for accrued usage charges.

As reiterated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, America’s drinking water supplies remain a safe and affordable way to access the water needed for drinking, cooking and maintaining personal hygiene during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Citizens should continue to use and drink water from their tap as usual as COVID-19 is not present in drinking water supplies. During this time, the city is asking its utility customers to use payment options other than coming to City Hall or the utility office to pay in person:
