Drive along Belle Terre Parkway — day or night — and you’ll notice some changes. Streetlights are being installed on the side of one of Palm Coast’s most well-known thoroughfares: Belle Terre Parkway from Palm Coast Parkway to State Road 100.

The lights will be installed in phases throughout the next few months. There may be lane closures as crews work to install the light poles.

The first phase began in late July, with lights going up on Belle Terre Parkway from Palm Coast Parkway to Pine Lakes Parkway. This phase will be completed in the coming days.

The next phases of lights to be installed are:

  • Pine Lakes to Parkview Dive: Construction in this phase will last three weeks to a month from installation to completion
  • Parkview Drive to Whiteview (waiting for FPL to progress from engineering to construction)
  • Whiteview Parkway to Rymfire Drive
  • Rymfire to Royal Palms
  • Royal Palms to Easthampton (waiting for FPL to progress from engineering to construction)
  • Easthampton to SR 100 (waiting for FPL to progress from engineering to construction)

As soon as each section is completed, the lights will turn on. This project is part of the streetlight master plan for 2020.

“This is a City Council priority, and residents have been excited for this project to begin for a long time now,” said Project Manager Tyler Gibson. “When this project is complete, it will greatly increase safety for motorists and pedestrians along Belle Terre Parkway during nighttime periods.”
