The rain did not scare away 200 guests in gowns, black ties to from donating toys and walking the red carpet for the third-annual Margarita Ball on Nov. 8, at Channelside.
Throughout the evening, cars packed with donations lined up to join the holiday kickoff. The elegant event hosted by the Board of Directors of Margarita Society, led by Cindy Evans, collected over 600 toys and $1,300 in gift cards for children and teenagers in Flagler County.
The following organizations will be benefiting from the donations: Early Steps at Easterseals, Rymfire Elementary School Families, Wise Men Gift Extravaganza at Parkview Baptist Church, Family Life Center, Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia, Loads of Smiles, and FIT: Families in Transition.
It was not unusual to find guests touring and contemplating the toy room. Michelle Carter and Candy Dayle stood were impressed by the sight and the generosity.
“We will put a lot of smiles on many children in Flagler County this holiday season!” was the ending remark of the update on the organization’s Facebook page.
