Women United Flagler celebrate 11th-annual Power of the Purse event

It was the most successful Power of the Purse so far.

Women United Flagler celebrated the 11th-annual Power of the Purse event at the Hammock Dunes Club on Monday, Aug. 26, to continue helping and creating a positive change in the lives of women and children in Flagler County. 

The Broadway theme contributed to the champagne, raffle tickets, wine, silent auction, music and dinner for a fun occasion. It was the most successful event so far, and tickets sold out in advance, according to Maureen Walsh, community engagement chair for Women United.   

Ahnika Gee from Teens-in-Flight shared her story and expressed her appreciation to the organization for supporting her to pursue her dreams. 

Courtney Edgcomb, president of United Way, also shared inspiring quotes and restated the mission of pooling resources to increase the impact of the organization.

Diane Wasney received the Woman of the Year award for all her volunteering time and commitment to the mission.
