Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly presented the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches a check for $16,263.53, according to a press release. The money was raised through payroll deductions from employees of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
FSYR is a nonprofit residential child and family services organization founded by the Florida Sheriffs Association in 1957. Its mission is to prevent juvenile delinquency and develop strong, lawful, resilient and productive citizens who will make a positive contribution to their communities for years to come.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly received the Florida Sheriff’s Association Lifetime Achievement Award on July 29 at the FSA Summer Conference. To be eligible for this award, a person must have a total of 40 years of sworn or non-sworn service in law enforcement, with at least 20 years plus one day of service for a Florida sheriff, according to a press release.
Sheriff Staly began his law enforcement career in 1975 as a police officer in Oviedo, and later in Altamonte Springs. He served for 23 years at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, being promoted through the ranks to undersheriff, or second-in-command, of the fourth largest sheriff's office in Florida and the thirteenth largest sheriff's office in the nation.
On Nov. 8, 2016, Sheriff Rick Staly was elected as sheriff of Flagler County and sworn into office on Jan. 3, 2017 as Flagler County’s 18th sheriff. As sheriff, he leads a work force of more than 300 employees with a budget of almost $30 million dollars.
The Palm Coast Arts Foundation will continue to host monthly Creative Bazaars after successful launches this summer.
For the first Saturdays of the month for the rest of the year, PCAF invited locals to shop from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1500 Central Ave. in Town Center.
