Spruce Creek's softball team one their 17th straight game on the night of Monday, April 22, after the Hawks defeated Matanzas 3-1 at Daytona State College's softball stadium.
The Pirates took the early lead with an RBI triple in the bottom of the third inning, however, the Hawks answered with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth. Spruce Creek's Hayley Lazo cracked a triple into right center in the sixth inning and then scored on a wild pitch to for the Hawks' third run.
