The Knights of Columbus Star Council 8086 of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Port Orange was able to raise $9,000 in its annual Tootsie Roll Drive.

Local Walmarts, Winn-Dixies and Publix markets supported the Knights during their community drive January through April. Six local schools each received $1,500 for their students with disabilities programs.

Grand Knight Tim Mell and Program Chairman John Ingria, along with Knights Jim Waggoner and Ted Morrell, visited each school on Tuesday, May 22, to present the checks to the principals.
