Palm Coast Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. partnered with the newly opened Painting with a Twist at Island Walk in Palm Coast for "Painting with a Purpose" on Saturday, June 9. The sorority raised over $500 to support educational programs for girls in the local community.
The Flagler Technical Institute graduation for 203 students who completed ESOL, Adult High School, GED, Career and Technical Education programs and TRAIL Transition was held on June 6 at the Flagler Auditorium.
The presentation of the colors was done by FPC JROTC, and the National Anthem was sung by FPC students Kiona Lane and Samantha Shumaker. Flagler Schools Superintendent James Tager and School Board members Trevor Tucker, Janet McDonald and Maria Barbosa attended. Flagler Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jorge Gutierrez was the keynote speaker.
Students from Belle Terre Elementary and Rymfire Elementary schools participated in the FAME Jim Harbin Student Media Festival for the 2017-2018 school year. Two teams took first place in the regional competition and will compete at the state level.
At RES, the book trailer “We Forgot Brock” placed first for the kindergarten to second-grade level and was created by Mrs. Baumert's first-grade students Kennedy Moore, Douglas Seth, Diana Miroshnik, and Elijah Morrow with the assistance of Media Specialist Melanie Tahan and Digital Support colleague Kristin Harrington.
At BTES, kindergarten students in Mrs. Lekos’ class created an instructional video to demonstrate their knowledge of animals and their habitats.
