The Daytona Beach Chapter no. 1048 of the Vietnam Veterans of America, in partnership with the Volusia Memorial Park and Funeral Home, unveiled a special monument to commemorate local fallen veterans at the Volusia Memorial Park.
Over 150 people attended the unveiling which took place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28. The monument honors 45 veterans from Volusia County who fought in the Vietnam War and have since died. The event also featured guest speakers and the presentation of an award for heroism and bravery to a local Marine who served in Afghanistan.
