For one evening that was "Truly Scrumptious," the Children's Musical Theatre Workshop of Ormond Beach showcased a lovable flying car on the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center stage for a night of laughs and applause.
In its 36th year, the summer CMT participants performed "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jr." the evening of Thursday, July 26.
Dozens of students practiced for 14 days before the show. In addition to learning lines, songs and choreography, they worked on costumes, props and set design along with other adult volunteers.
"We are so very proud of them. They worked so very hard these 14 days," Artistic Director Cindy Simmons said. "I think everybody did a wonderful job, and it really showed."
