About 150 students spent their Saturday morning cleaning the planters, repainting walls, touching up Bulldog paw prints and picking up debris around Flagler Palm Coast High School on April 7 for Give Back to FPC Day.
Student groups, sports teams, clubs and classrooms were invited to the school-wide beautification project, started by Principal Dusty Sims and Activities Director Cheryl Perry.
"In the fall, we were talking about how many things we have for kids — all the activities, clubs, sports and all that," Sims said. "We really do provide a lot for the kids. So, (Perry) had talked a little bit with SGA about giving back. ... The kids said, 'Let's do a Give Back to FPC Day.'"
Sims added that the school made sure to hold the event before it got too warm at the end of the school year.
