On Sunday, Oct. 22, residents gathered at Ritter's Frozen Custard to help support the families of Anthony Reese Franzini and Eleanor Stephens — two children who have been fighting cancer.
Franzini lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, Oct. 5. The Port Orange resident was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, which is an aggressive form of cancer found at the base of the brain.
According to the event's Facebook page, the day was meant to be a way that people who knew Franzini could celebrate and reflect on who he was and what he meant to them.
