HUM Gala raises over $41,000 during annual gala

Over $41,000 was raised at the 8th annual Halifax Urban Ministries Blue Diamond Fundraising Gala.

Held May 6 at Oceanside Country Club, the gala raised over $41,000 in revenue and made proceeds of over $30,000 for homeless prevention and intervention. This year’s theme, which was a “Hope on the Horizon,” featured celebrating Halifax Urban Ministries’ accomplishments in homeless prevention and intervention and looked toward the future of Hope Place. 

Halifax Health won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, and Bill Turner was given the John C. Allen, Jr. Humanitarian Award. Angie Forest was awarded the First Dr. Allen H. Nejat Community Philanthropy Award, for her $100,000 donation to Hope Place last year. Former Ormond Beach Mayor  Ed Kelley presented the keynote address.
