Despite another 10-plus strikeout game from Mainland’s Abagaile Killian, The Seabreeze Sandcrabs were able to beat the Buccaneers 3-1 — to complete the season sweep — on Tuesday, March 28, at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex.
The Sandcrabs (7-4, 5-2) kept their errors down to two and converted off the Bucs’ (4-6, 2-6) three errors and seven hits.
Killian, who has totaled 29 strikeouts while giving up only three earned runs in both games combined, said, “It’s frustrating, because we couldn't execute plays, and we gave them lots of outs. Even if I pitch a great game, we can't win without scoring runs, and we weren’t able to do that.”
Up next, Seabreeze will play Pine Ridge at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, in Deltona, and Mainland plays Deltona at the same time on Thursday at Mainland.
