United Way Volusia-Flagler has announced that Diamond Resorts International has provided a $10,000 grant to the United Way and Volusia Interfaiths/Agencies Networking in Disaster. The grant will go toward providing assistance to those households that had damage or debris from Hurricane Matthew, and did not have enough money to meet their insurance deductible or had other needs, according to a press release. VIND is in the process of reviewing cases.

David Holland, CPA, a local certified financial planner, will be bringing his PlanStronger Lecture Series to the Volusia County Libraries’ Money Smart Week campaign. Topics will include investing, Social Security, annuities, mortgage loans, etc.
The free program will take place at 2 p.m, April 27, at the Ormond Beach Library. Holland’s television program, PlanStrongerTV, airs on WDSC Channel 15, each Monday at 7 p.m.
