Families and friends gathered to watch the seventh-annual tree lighting ceremony, at Central Park in Town Center. Santa Claus arrived in a sea of sirens, aboard a Palm Coast fire engine. Mayor Milissa Holland, along with other members of the Palm Coast City Council and the Rotary Club of Flagler County, joined Santa in lighting up the night.
Once the tree was lit, residents enjoyed the Rotary Club's Fantasy Lights, a festival started 12 years ago in memory of Bill Butler's daughter.
Jazz singer Linda Cole performed holiday favorites, and many sang along to the tunes. Local restaurants served food, as part of the Rotary's "A Taste of the Holidays," a new addition to the community tradition.
