The usual motorcycle roar that fills Destination Daytona was replaced Saturday, Nov. 5 with the calmer atmosphere of the One Tribe Conscious Festival, a festival aimed at bringing all the local yoga communities together.
"It's the first time we've done this," said organizer and owner of YogaStudio8, Christy Lecuyer. "It's about getting all the studios together in one space so we can share each other's practices and expand our consciousness."
The event started off with a meditation by Alexandrea Tocco of Platinum Health, Fitness, and Yoga in Ormond Beach and continued with yoga classes throughout the day as well as holistic vendors, musicians, live artists, bodyworkers, food healing, and sacred music. At sunset, everyone came together for a drum circle and yoga rave with fire spinning, hoop dancing, and belly dancers.
"Unity," Lecuyer said. "That's what yoga is all about."
