Thief breaks into car, steals diaper bag

2:16 p.m. 300 block of Palm Coast Parkway NE. Vehicle break-in: A woman left her car in the parking lot of a local community center while her children played at the playground. When she got back to her car, the window was broken, and her purse and another bag were missing — but the second bag probably wasn't the sort of bag the thief had hoped for. It was a diaper bag, "containing diapers and miscellaneous baby items, nothing of significant value," according to a Sheriff's Office report. The purse contained the woman's wallet, with her driver's license and a few credit cards.

Kids use driveway as skateboard ramp, home found damaged

7:57 p.m. First block of Folcroft Lane. Criminal mischief: A Palm Coast woman called the Sheriff's Office from New York after her neighbor called her and said that kids were using her Palm Coast home's driveway "as a skateboard ramp," according to a Sheriff's Office report. A deputy checked the house and found it damaged: Two windows on the garage door were smashed out, with a cement paver and a potted plant thrown into the garage through the window. Someone had drawn on the home and the driveway with a permanent marker. The door leading from the garage into the house itself was secure, according to the deputy's report. The deputy estimated the damage at $500.
