Burglar steals construction equipment from vacant house

10:17 a.m. First block of 20 Blakefeild Lane. Burglary: Someone entered a vacant home and stole $1,800 worth of construction equipment overnight. A real estate agent who was handling the property reported the theft to the Sheriff's Office. Workers had been renovating the home, she said, and left a $1,200 texture sprayer and a $600 tile saw there overnight. Both were stolen. A deputy checked the home and noticed that the locking mechanism on one of the sliding doors was missing.

Not safe enough? Man reports gun missing from gun safe

1:55 p.m. 5800 block of Nutwood Avenue. Burglary: A 48-year-old Bunnell man reported to the Sheriff's Office that he'd noticed that his gun, a black pistol, was missing from his gun safe. He told a deputy the gun might have been missing since February.
