Josephine Ganz, Elias Johansson, Layla Wilson, Abigail Greene and Rain Schneider.
Rain Schneider's "Rainbow River," was inspired by a very colorful imagination.
Elias Johansson's "The Bridge, the Noah's Ark and the Titanic" can be hung in every direction.
Josephine Ganz's "Joy" was created with her favorite colors.
Sarah Todd will be adding an Aztec blanket to her bottle drawing.
Layla Wilson's "Flying in Sky" was not based on real personal experience — just a dream.
Jayden Lambert really likes owls. Like a lot.
It took Abigail Greene a month to complete her 3-D project titled "My Paper Neighborhood."
Gavin Palmer drew a portrait of his mother. She loved it.
Anne McGrath's colorful piece was inspired by an interesting dream.
Second-grader Elias Johansson seemingly put a lot of thought behind his collage piece titled "The Bridge, Noah's Ark and the Titanic." Not only is the piece versatile — according to the 8 year old, you can hang it in every direction and it will still look good — but it also comes with a thoughtful artists statement:
"I love the way that It can be all of these things. I was planning on matching the Swedish flag, but I didn't."
When pressed for more details about his artistic project, the future Picasso just shrugged and said, "Basically I just put lines everywhere, and it came out looking like that."
Johansson's work will be hanging with over 70 other pieces of art from the 12 Volusia County schools participating in the Elementary Art Exhibit. For Osceola Elementary Art Teacher Melanie Interdonato, picking out the students work was difficult.
"I have 400 something students," she smiled. "And they are all so talented."
