Nothing brings a group of boys together like kickball and superheros.
Though many kids cheered for the OBPD, some students kept their school pride and rooted for their teachers.
During a friendly kickball game at Pine Trail Elementary last week, it was revealed that there are two superheroes in the Ormond Beach Police Department.
Batman, a.k.a. Officer Jay Brennan and Superman, a.k.a. Officer John Dovine joined forces to compete against the elementary school's PTE teachers June 2 during the Back The Blue Kickball Challenge.
Over 700 students attended the game, and most could point out batman pretty easily thanks to his mask and black cape. Though Superman was a little harder to spot because he couldn't stand to wear his cape in the heat, some students identified him from his socks.
While Pine Trail is usually known for their infectious school spirit, Principal Tami Fisher overheard a group of boys cheering for Superman.
"You better make sure you're cheering for us," she winked.
The boys laughed and continued to cheer for the opposing team, who won the game 12 to 4.
