The sun had gone down, there was a slight breeze and it seemed like everyone in the city was searching for a open spot on the bank of the Halifax River to watch the fireworks show. Patriotic songs played in the background as big booms lit up the sky and even took the form of a heart, a fish and a jumbled — but still recognizable — "USA."
The city's annual Independence Day Celebration is one of the those events where it feels like the entire city is squished together in one spot to enjoy one thing: freedom. So whether you were hanging with Abe Lincoln, listening to music at city hall or securing your spot under the bridge for the big show, us at The Ormond Beach Observer hope you had a fantastic Fourth of July.
