Grand Theft. The restaurant manager said he suspected an employee of committing theft . A check showed that the suspect’s register was short of cash on several days.

It was also found the employee pressed the coupon code key several times even though she works a shift when the coupon was not available.

Video surveillance showed the employee charging customers full price and pressing the coupon code. Later, she would count how many times she had pressed the coupon code to determine how much money she could take. Surveillance showed her taking money from the register and walking out of view of the camera.

When the victim reported for work, she denied the theft until she was told about the video surveillance, and she then admitted the crime. She cried and said she needed the money for her daughter.
