Over 100 people attended the final concert in the city’s series.
Peter Fernandez and Isabella Szabo raced around Rockefeller Gardens July 31, in an intense battle of pool noodles. Darting in-between lawn chairs and picnic blankets, the fight came to a close when the music started back up, and it was time to listen.
“She’s vicious,” Fernandez said of his 7-year-old opponent. “But I’m trying to teach her how to stand up to authority.”
With the war over, the duo rejoined their small group of family and friends at their spot in front of the stage. The Not Brothers Band was playing “Drive” by Incubus, and the crowd was humming along as the sun set on the evening and the final concert in the city’s Summer Sounds Series.
