One Ormond Beach Vietnam Army Veteran got to visit memorials in Washington DC as a part of a Solo Honor Flight.

Thomas Lux, an Ormond Beach resident and Vietnam Army Veteran, recently returned from an Honor Flight to Washington DC.

Hosted by Snap-on Incorporated and The Honor Flight Network, the trip was for the company’s associates and franchisees who served in World War II, Korean and Vietnam wars to be able to visit the Washington DC memorials erected in their honor.

Thomas Lux, who worked for Snap-on for 37 years, said the experience was something he’ll never forget.

“They had police escorts,” Lux said. “How they treat the veterans there is amazing. There were a lot of people shedding tears. A lot of schools were there taking tours. I was astonished to see how many school kids came up and hugged the ole timers and said ‘Thank you for your service.’ It was pretty heartwarming to see that happen."
