Chiumento Selis Dwyer, a law firm serving Flagler and Volusia Counties, has added a new attorney.

Attorney and Palm Coast resident Vincent Lyon graduated from George Washington University Law School in 2004, according to a press release from the law firm, and will offer business, litigation and personal injury law services at Chiumento Selis Dwyer.

“I have a passion for copyright and trademark work as well,” Lyon said. “I like how involved CSD is in the community and feel this partnership is a good fit for the both of us.”

Lyon is a native of Oklahoma City and attended Cornell University for his undergraduate education.

Lyon practiced law in Maryland for eight years and moved to Palm Coast last year.

Modern Organic Salon to honor cancer survivor or caregiver

Modern Organic Salon, a day spa and salon in Flagler Beach, will choose one cancer survivor or caregiver for a free makeover and day of pampering in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The treat will include the salon’s seasonal “pumpkin smash facial,” lunch, a massage and hair, makeup and nails.

Dixie Commons Animal Hospital to hold Halloween-themed customer appreciation day

Dixie Commons Animal Hospital in Bunnell will hold a customer appreciation day Saturday, Oct. 26 with a costume contest and giveaways like free vaccines, grooming, dog walks and exams.

“There will also be a best-dressed Halloween costume contest with prizes,” office manager Keith Brown said in a press release. “We will have giveways and a carnival-like atmosphere,” he added.

The event is free, but guests are asked to bring a pet food donation for the Humane Society.

The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Dixie Commons Animal Hospital at 32 Caroline Street in Bunnell.

Affordable Lawn & Landscaping Inc. of Palm Coast irrigation professional Brad Bruce has been accredited by Florida Water StarSM, a professional accreditation program dedicated to sustainable water use.

The program was developed by the St. Johns Water Management District in 2006 to encourage efficient water use in households, irrigation systems and landscapes, and is offered in partnership with the Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape Association, according to the Florida Water StarSM website

Main Street Realty will hold a meet and greet session with wine and cheese from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.

The event, part of the real estate firm’s “It’s all about Relationships” series, will be held at the Main Street
