When former attorney Elizabeth Jameson was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she decided to make something beautiful out of her disease.

Even though the condition has left her a quadriplegic, Jameson created vibrant works of art, including colored etchings and digital and textile collages, out of her black-and-white MRI scans. Her collection is titled "Explorations of the Mind and Brain'' and is currently  displayed in the Ormond Memorial Art Museum.

"It's scary for me to look at this black-and-white image," said Jameson in a press release. "I want to stare at the brain scan and make it more multilayered.''

The California artist will be at the museum for a lecture and reception Dec. 5. Her collection is being displayed until Dec. 30.
