Ormond Beach's Jewish community is getting a two-for-one this holiday season.
Hanukkah, which typically falls in December, starts Nov. 27, the day before Thanksgiving. The last time the two holidays were celebrated so closely was in 1888. Hanukkah typically falls closer to Christmas.
"We'll be celebrating with latkes and turkeys," said Ellen Orfinger, 54, who's "granddog" Caleb is pictured above.
Orfinger said she might be experimenting with combining the two holidays by making sweet potato pancakes.
"We're looking forward to a fun Hanukkah-Thanksgiving this year."
