The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office will open a new Palm Coast precinct with a ribbon-cutting ceremony 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, at City Marketplace, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite C-107.
City Marketplace also houses Palm Coast’s city offices.
A Sheriff’s Office deputy and volunteers from the Sheriff’s Citizen’s Observer program will staff the precinct M8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The precinct will also have a full-time records clerk who can provide residents with copies of reports and house the Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic and Motors Unit as well as the Community Outreach Unit.
“This has been an amazing cooperative effort between the city and the Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Jim Manfre said. “It was remarkable to see how quickly city employees were able to complete construction of the precinct.”
Construction of the new facility was a collaborative project by city crews, Sheriff’s Office personnel and local contractors.
The new precinct is about 2,600 square feet, nearly doubling the previous Old Kings location, which will be closing.
The move is anticipated to save the Sheriff’s Office about $13,000 in rent, officials said.
