YMCA now offering low-cost group exercise

Volusia Flagler Family YMCA is now offering a low-cost, group exercise program for older adults, called EnhanceFitness.

The 16-week program is meant to improve energy, strength, range of motion and joint health using light hand weights, stretching and other equipment. Free to all YMCA members, the program costs $25 for non-members.

The EnhanceFitness program is offered 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at the Ormond Beach Family YMCA, 500 Sterthaus Drive.

Dogapalooza is back: July 26

The Ormond Memorial Art Museum, at 78 E. Granada Blvd., is bringing its Dogapalooza event back for the second year Friday, July 26.

Bring your four-legged friend, on a leash, to the museum 6-8 p.m. for socialization featuring artist Nettie Price. It will be a night of animal art, a dog art activity, dog costume contest and pet merchandise vendors.

Refreshments include ice cream and cookies, and foster dogs will be in attendance for adoption.

Admission is $2, with proceeds benefiting Sophie’s Circle pet food pantry and Rescued Hearts Animal Shelter, of Ormond Beach. Bring a pet food donation to be entered into a prize drawing.

Free doo-wop concert: July 26

The final show in the city’s Summer Sounds free concert series will take place 7 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Rockefeller Gardens Park, 25 Riverside Drive.

Knights to Remember, a 1950, ’60s and oldies doo-wop group, will perform. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket.
