+ Flagler Beach Wine & Cheese closes

Last week, wine and cheese from around the world was served for the last time at Flagler Beach Wine & Cheese, an independent shop in Flagler Beach. The store is closed as of Aug. 10, it announced on its Facebook page.

The announcement was met with disappointment by residents and regular customers.

“You recommended some of the best wines, and I will miss your expertise,” Diana McDearmont Goodreau said in a Facebook comment.

+ Woody’s launches country night

The Palm Coast branch Woody’s Bar-B-Q is excited to launch and host “Country Night at The Wood.”

The event is held on the first Saturday of every month from 10:00 p.m. to 2 a.m. The first country night was held on Aug. 3. People must be 21 years old or older to enter.

Country night features country music dancing and line dancing, exclusive giveaways, a “biggest and baddest truck” contest with prizes, a custom menu and more.

KIX Country 98.7 and other local businesses will be participating in the event.

+ Blue launches new menu

Blue at the Topaz has launched an assortment of new entrees and appetizers.

“We’ve had the new menu for about a week now and the feedback has been incredible,” said Kelli O’Reilly, co-owner of Blue. “We’ve added a couple of new vegetarian dishes, appetizers and entrees that our customers have been raving about all week.”

Some of the new menu items include crabmeat stuffed portabella mushrooms, herb baked brie, baked escargot in a puff pastry, grilled vegetable tostada, and chicken and eggplant penne vodka.
The restaurant is located at 1224 S. Oceanshore Blvd., in Flagler Beach. It is open 4-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 4-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Reservations are accepted for parties of six or more.
