Hair to Dye For, at 73 S. Yonge St. will hold a registration event this weekend for potential stem cell donors, following the diagnosis of local Dan Shay with acute myeloid leukemia. Shay is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant.

To become a potential donor for Shay and others like him, fill out a Be the Match application and all that’s needed, then, is a mouth swab. Donors must be ages 18-44.

The registration event will take place noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Hair to Dye For. Lulu’s Oceanside Grill, at 30 S. Atlantic Ave., will hold a similar event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21.

Donations are also being accepted; every $100 raised helps add another member to the donor registry. Visit http://marrow.org.
