The following is adapted from www.FlaglerEmergency.com:
As of 11 p.m. Friday, May 25, Sub Tropical Storm Beryl has formed off the shore of South Carolina. A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the East Coast of Northeast Florida that includes Flagler County. The storm is expected to drift back to the Southwest and reach the coast of Northeast Florida or south Georgia by Sunday.
No evacuations are planned at this time. Persons should expect a period of wet and windy weather with winds that may approach 40-50 mph. These conditions are expected to begin late Saturday and last into Monday. Persons should take time now to secure any loose items and be prepared for power failures.
Boating and coastal interests should also begin preparing for this storm, as coastal areas will likely see the strongest winds.
This is a changing situation. Everyone should stay informed through the weekend and heed all advice from Emergency Management.
