+ FBI raids Palm Coast home, finds child porn
A Palm Coast man suspected of downloading “hundreds of files depicting the sexual abuse of children” stabbed his computer with a two-foot samurai sword May 9, as federal agents raided his home, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Kamil Mezalka, 21, faces federal charges of downloading child pornography. If convicted, he faces five to 20 years in federal prison.

According to the report, FBI agents executed a search warrant May 8 at Mezalka’s residence. After entering, Mezalka ignored commands to exit his bedroom. When the agents entered the bedroom where Mezalka was located, he was holding a samurai sword, which he then used to stab into the side of a desktop computer, the report states.

In April, Mezalka also used a samurai sword to protect his mother in a dispute with his stepfather.

+ Four residents injured in crash
Preliminary findings indicate that an improper turn by Shantell Cleare, 17, was the cause of minor injuries to four Palm Coast residents May 9, at State Road 100 and Old Kings Road.

Falana Peterson, 35, was driving east on State Road 100, with passenger Ahmon Sheffield, 13, when Cleare attempted to turn left into a business parking lot, violating oncoming traffic’s right of way. The front of her vehicle then collided with the right side of Peterson’s.

All involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, including Cleare’ passenger, Khadijah James, 17. Cleare and James were transported to Florida Hospital Flagler for minor injuries.
