Ismael Toro, 33, of the B-section in Palm Coast, was jailed May 9 on charges of stealing jewelry and then selling it to a pawnshop and a gold buyer.

The victim met a deputy at Cash It In pawnshop and positively identified a silver ring, a heart-shaped charm and a silver necklace with a silver cross attached. The items had been stolen from her home April 25, and then sold to the pawnshop for $700. Ismael Toro signed the transaction sheet. The victim paid $25 to the business to retrieve the items.

The victim then met the deputy at Palm Coast Gold Buyers and identified four rings, one pendant and several other items of jewelry that were hers. Toro also signed a transaction sheet stating the items were his and received $380 for them. They were sold on the same date that they were stolen from the victim, who paid $50 to retrieve some of the items from Palm Coast Gold Buyers.

Toro was charged with two counts of dealing in stolen property (felony) and two counts of pawnbrokering (misdemeanor).
